Yesterday, I was going through files on my phone when I stumbled on something that reminded me of a course I took on rape last year.

About two years ago, someone contacted me for help as regards a friend that got raped. I gave her all the counselling I could give, the compulsory steps she shouldn’t waste time to take, and the need for medical tests. Even had to contact my friend who is a lawyer and got some NGO contact but we couldn’t do much because these evil perpetrators weren’t identifiable, due to where it happened. It was really complicated and it still hurts to remember these rapists weren’t brought to book.
This issue is the main reason I had to take up the course on rape last year.

We have lots of people that have been victims of rape. And now, I mean both male and female. Yeah, because the society tend to focus more on the female when it comes to issues like this.
While some have gotten their healing, some are silently still struggling with the trauma. There are even cases of the abused becoming abusers, due to not being healed yet. Some have become sex addicts as a result of rape and sexual abuse while some have grown to have weird sex sense. There’s been guys preferring sex with women old enough to be their grandmother due to repeated sexual abuse by older female as kids. There’s been ladies seeing men as beasts due to past trauma.
Most victims of rape are trying to find their voice, trying to heal, scared of what society might say, scared of being blamed.
Then, there’s someone, a devil, who deem it fit to lie about rape because the society wouldn’t take it likely. A devil who feels the best way to punish someone for not bending to your rules is to falsely accuse them of rape. A devil who decided to take advantage of those passionate about topics like this.

Justice for rape victims has always been hard, especially when there isn’t evidence. And now? This devil in human skin has made it harder.
