I don’t know how y’all that do it actually do it — waking up in the morning and the next thing is to start gisting. No clearing of mind, no personal reflection of the previous day, no reflection of what happened overnight (probably a dream) — ejo yii na ni. Chochocho! Don’t you have bag of thoughts?
Early mornings should come with a DND (Do Not Disturb) mode till you’re done reflecting. It’s needed for both mental and spiritual reasons.
Even if you stay in an environment where morning devotion, morning Muslim prayer or morning ritual is compulsory — it doesn’t stop you from being in your head. In fact, being in God’s presence is the best place to reflect. When do you even want to hear God’s feedback when all you’re doing after talking to Him is chochocho?
During the early hours of the day, you should only talk when it’s necessary. Tell me why you’re coming back from mosque around 6, 7:00am and you’re gisting about things that don’t matter with your friend on your way back. Or you’re coming from vigil and gisting about people’s life is the best option you chose to keep you going before you see bike. Most traditionalists are not even on this table — they know the importance of keeping your mouth shut. If you live around where traditionalists are, you’d understand how traditionalists and snubbing an early morning greeting are like five and six. Traditionalist gisting after dropping sacrifice ke?
You-alone time is important. Don’t joke with it. Personally, looks like I have a silent mode activated for early time of the day — can sometimes be taken as snubby. I don’t know why you’d see me early in the morning and the next thing is to start gisting about unnecessary stuffs.
I hate early morning calls too, talmabouh why you’re calling me by 5:00am for something that’s not an emergency. I prefer an 11:45pm call to a 6:00am call. Before I pick an early morning call when I’m yet to observe my morning DND, I’m usually caught between going back to it or picking up in case it’s an emergency.
And this doesn’t mean you’d observe your morning DND everyday. There are days things might not go as expected. You fit don reach work before you remember say you never even thank God for seeing another day. Calm down darling, don’t beat yourself up. It happens and no one is perfect in this race called life. We learn everyday, we grow everyday — with the goal being to get better.
Till I’m back to stir the drink, stay gbam!

I love this.
Glad you do, chief.
Thanks for engaging 🙏.
